How soon is the reality of running your SAP solutions in a "cloud" rather in your data center?

Acclaimed SAP cloud Guru Christopher Carter take's the time to sit down and to discuss the very real movement to your SAP solutions into a cloud.

• Implementing cloud as part of a hybrid strategy that brings value internally and externally will help balance the risks and rewards.
• Once enterprises leverage cloud computing, often cost savings and a richer customer experience are passed along to end users
• In-turn can help your organization exit the downturn with a stronger competitive edge.

Discuss why you need cloud:
• Drives up utilization, drives down internal costs
• Improves flexibility and agility in IT infrastructure
• Benefits the end user, creating a richer customer experience
By taking 18 years of SAP experience and matching it with Virtualization and Cloud applications over the course of his professional career, Chris has come up with some very in-depth SAP Cloud options that he has stated will and are revolutionizing the way companies run SAP Software, as well as to how they can run their businesses more efficiently, securely, and with greater TCO reporting BUT also looking at the pitfalls if not planned or executed properly.

"The strength of security in the cloud is as strong as the server sitting in your office"
That's absolutly true.
Let's look at the facts:
Cloud computing is basically a GUI interface to a backend virtualized group of systems and those servers are secured as they are In your center but the benefits are that the 80% of wasted server usage is now distributed between other users
So here we go we are secure utilized and creating a stronger grouping

Let the best SAP cloud win

So i was talking to (tweeting) with some folks in the sap arena when they started talking about our SAP cloud efforts and the direction SAP seems to be going with their cloud...Ever since they bought coghead and the comments by Leo and their new CTO Sikka seem to be going in two very different directions.

So in steps other 3rd parties and our clouds and our test's on SAP solutions in the cloud....basicaly remember that the cloud is nothing more then a virtual server farm with a GUI front end...so ANY SAP solution we have tested is able to get into and run in the cloud.

We actually have standardized on the AppZero application to get our SAP solutions into the cloud then we have multiple clouds we can run too for deployment.....We have tested SAP solutions and different operating systems, databases versions etc...

Results:
This is not for the 1st timers you need experience, we went through many crash and burn scenerios and even yet after over 100 test deployments we still get a hiccup trying to test new ideas, but the great thing is we can deploy a new "cloud" instance in less then 30 seconds...Try that in your data center!
